do I need to know anything special of changing these tires which have a monitor sensor in them? How to change rear tires on 99 corvette?
gm used two different types of systems to determine tire pressure. one is the actual pressure sensor that you are referring to, mounted inside the rim. a second one used the vehicle speed sensors for the abs to calculate the rpm and make sure that they match up to each other and the charts in the computer. as long as you are careful about how you pull the tire off of the rim (if you are going to do that have fun) you should be fine. i snapped one years ago in a shop. that sensor is only about 70 dollars. How to change rear tires on 99 corvette?
The monitor is attached to the valve stem. You just need to be careful not to bust the old one when removing the tire or mounting the new one. If you do break it or it is faulty they are easy to replace.
i agree.
go to a reputable tire store when you buy tire and pay a little to have the sensors rebuilt when u get tires that way they will work properly and keep you safe. also help your tires last longer with proper inflation.
