When to change the tires on my motorcycle?

I have a 2006 1100cc honda shadow spirit, and I can still see the tread on the rear tire but it is getting faint I have about 6000 miles on it. How much will the tires cost me to have them installed by a dealerWhen to change the tires on my motorcycle?
You should replace them when you get to the tread wear marks, or before.

Shop around. Prices will vary widely. It all depends on who gets away with what.

Example #1: Bought 2 tires, brought rims only in.

Honda dealer charged shop rate ($70.00/hr.) to mount and balance tires I bought from him. Took 1 hour each.

Yeah, $140 to mount and balance what I bought there.

Example #2: Local indie HD wrench charges me $30/front, $50/rear to mount and balance tires bought through him (no mark-up) - ON THE BIKE.

You can tell when your tires are starting to fad and become useless. As for getting them put on, a dealer will charge for labor, so it's about maybe $30 an hour. It only takes an hour for both tires. The price of good quality tires would be around $110 a piece.
If the tread pattern is becoming ';faint';, it's definitely time to change that tire.

Cost of tire and labour depends on which tire you're interested in and the hourly rate of the shop doing the work for you.
The price of a tire handed to you can be as low as $125 or as high as the $300 depending on the brand. If you take it off the bike they should only charge you $25 or $35 bucks to mount %26amp; balance it.
2/32 of tread remaining is done

tire swaps are usually .7 hours at the door rate plus the cost of the tire
if in uk most bike shops will fit them for free ,

if you buy from them %26amp; remove wheels from bike,
