How much will it cost to change all four tires of your car?

It depends on the car and the kind of tire you buy.

But, assuming an average car, like a Camry, and a cheap tire, you should be able to get it done for about $300, installed.

But, if you've got a Ferrari and want some nice rubber, about $15,000.

Godzilla, most expensive you can afford, really? So, you'd put a couple thousand dollars worth of rubber on a Camry?

Unless you're headed to a race track I think I've got better advice, get the cheapest tires you can find that are a brand name that you've heard of. Just about all brand name tires are ';good'; safe tires. Anything more expensive than an entry level tire starts paying for more grip. More grip is good but we're not talking about the difference between feeling like you're on an ice rink vs being able to stop on a dime. We're talking about the difference between a second or two around a race track and stopping a foot or two shorter from 70. Could that fraction of a second turning, or extra couple of feet avoid an accident in real life? I suppose the answer is a firm ';maybe'; but the real answer is that if you're within the range that tires are all that's making the difference between an accident and a close call, you've made a few mistakes that lead up to that critical moment.

Secondarily, those more expensive tires that get more grip use a softer rubber compound. That means the more expensive tires wear out faster than cheaper tires. I only mention this because so many people incorrectly think a more expensive tire lasts longer. How much will it cost to change all four tires of your car?
It depends on what size wheels you have.

how long is a piece of string? How much will it cost to change all four tires of your car?
approx $200 for cheap tires. don't forget, your life rides on them
Obviously, it depends on a lot of things. Figure on it starting around $40/tire for a set of new, low-brand tires (so, $160 plus mounting and all that) all the way up to $400 a tire for some cars and trucks.

I just got some put on a Honda that Honda recommends. They were probably $50 more a piece than the knockoff brand, but I also got about 15,000 miles LESS out of the cheapos, so it's worth it to spend a few extra bucks.
It depends. For a passenger car, four new tires will cost about $200. Retreads will be cheaper, trucks and RVs will be more.

Get the most expensive tires you can afford.
It's obvious that no one who has attempted to answer this question has any idea of what automobile tires really cost these days. Tire prices vary in price both due to differences in tire and wheel sizes, to the quality and type of tires you want to buy.

In the USA, individual tires for a tiny Chevy Aveo could be as cheap as $45 each, while tires for a high-performance car like a BMW or Porsche could cost over $250 each, and then you have to pay extra for mounting and balancing each tire on the car.
usually we allow for about 150australian per tyre. this gets a good tyre that is good for all weather. cheap tyres are just dangerous, and really expensive tyres grip very well but don't last very long due to the soft rubber.

tyres we have found that are very good and not hugely expensive are Toyo tyres. we got 60,000kms from our last set and 55,000kms from the set before that. they are nice and quiet on the highway and have a good deep tread for dealing with water.

decent tyres keep you on the road and keep you safe.

DON'T GET RETREADS!
