The tires I have now are very difficult to get on and off the rims. Tire levers have been broken and tubes slashed in the process. I know how to change the tire properly. What tires go on and come off the shimano wr500 bicycle rims easily? ?
The short answer to your question is ';none';. The long answer however is a bit different.
Because of the design of the wheels, WR500 rims are very stiff and one can't employ tricks like increasing spoke tension to shrink the rim ever-so-slightly. One can use a technique that is used in the automobile industry, and that is to use liquid dishwashing detergent to install the tires. Make sure that there is sufficient air in the tube prior to starting to shape it and that you have installed the tire ';halfway';. I know of some that install the tube first then try to work the tire onto the rim. In my opinion not a good process.
Anyway, once one side of the tire is installed and the tube safely tucked in use a fingerful of dishwashing soap and spread it around the tire bead. It'll then pop right on. I personally don't use tire levers and haven't for many years using this technique... and it is ALL technique and not so much hand strength. What tires go on and come off the shimano wr500 bicycle rims easily? ?
You should be pushing the already fitted sections of the tyre into the well (?) of the rim, so that there is more slack to pull over the opposite side of the rim.
