96 honda accord just stopped?

Today when my wife came home, she said it was makin a loud sound, kinda like somethin might be loose. I dont know anything about cars, except maybe how to change tires and oil. well, this evening when I went to leave, I made it to the corner stop sign and my car just stopped and it wont start back up......any suggestions????? please help, we only have one vehicle!!96 honda accord just stopped?
maybe the loud sound was the motor knocking.....hate to say it but if it was making a loud banging noise then it is toast and you need motor!!!!!!....check the oil to see if there is oil in the car and check the radiator for coolant.....if either is low or empty you probably fried it.....get a pro to look at it!!!!96 honda accord just stopped?

Not enough info here, does the engine crank over when you turn the key? Could be a broken timing belt..if it suddenly quit...this could cause some major damage to the engine.
